What is a
think-tank?
We like to think
that a think tank is a group of people capable of taking in knowledge from many
disparate sources with the objective of generating solutions for problems that
defy more conventional
approaches. A think tank seeks to establish links between bodies of knowledge
vested in people and
databases (human, paper or electronic). The approach is aided by the
participation of individuals who
have a reputation for "lateral thinking" or thinking "out of the
box". Perhaps the most powerful asset a
think-tank can have is access to individuals who are genuinely passionate about
knowledge, and who
seek to understand how their universe functions. Putting several such people
together can in the
space of days generate new insight to problems.
How might we work with you?
Firstly you need to
present us with a problem or specific issue which needs resolving.
This needs to be
stated clearly. A key step in understanding the solution to a problem is to
state that
problem in the
simplest terms - we can help you do this.
Having identified
the nature of the problem, Bénézech – Simpson will identify a small group of
individuals
who can work
together with a small number of your experts. The individuals will be chosen on
the basis
of their
awareness of your field of interest and our perception of how other areas of
knowledge might
relate to your
area of interest. Small is the key, for as the old saying goes "too many
cooks spoil the
broth". Too
many experts gathered around a table will not arrive quickly at a satisfactory
outcome.
Necessarily, we
bring our own prejudices into play, but at the end of the day a think-tank's
worth is based
on results. We
get results.
Ideas
Any think-tank worth
its reputation has access to strong-minded individuals who are original
thinkers.
That means that
our experts will be scientists or creative thinkers with an established record
of innovation
expressed as
scientific discoveries, patented inventions or published ideas on important
issues.
